ABOUT ALISSA SCHNEIDER, MA, LMHC

Counseling for Anxiety & Low Self-Esteem

Alissa provides online counseling services to people throughout the state of Florida who are struggling with anxiety or self-esteem challenges. She really enjoys helping clients struggling with these challenges, because she knows how difficult it can be to face these issues.

Alissa graduated with her Master's in Counseling in 2015 from Olivet Nazarene University after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and is originally from the Chicagoland area. She has worked with many individuals with a variety of challenges including chronic anxiety and low self-esteem.

Alissa uses approaches rooted in faith-integrated counseling, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She genuinely has a passion for helping people, and considers herself to being blessed with the gifts of being insightful, wise, and encouraging. Therapy with Alissa is about having more of a sense of freedom. She doesn’t believe in being in therapy “forever” and helps her clients to focus on their specific goals.

Alissa wants to help her clients have the freedom to make the decisions that will support what they value in their lives, instead of making decisions based out of fear or because we are on “auto-pilot”. Alissa helps her clients to be more intentional in choosing their behaviors. She also believes in adding thoughts and emotions instead of focusing on trying to stop natural human emotions, which often just causes more anxiety and pain.

Alissa is very passionate about offering online therapy to people in Florida who are struggling with challenges like anxiety and low self-esteem. In her free time, Alissa enjoys listening to Christian worship music, reading, spending time in nature, hanging out with her dogs, going to the beach, and spending time with friends & family.
